Leigh Sugar is a Michigan-based writer, editor, educator, and movement artist.
She created and edited That’s a Pretty Thing to Call It: Prose and poetry by artists teaching in carceral settings (New Village Press, 2023) available NOW!
Her first book, FREELAND, is forthcoming from Alice James Books in 2025!
Leigh works for poet Rachel Zucker on her podcast Commonplace: Conversations with Poets (and other people)!
A chronically ill and disabled artist, Leigh is dedicated to learning from and contributing to a rich and growing lineage of disabled artists.
